Vincent S. Brown

Vincent S. Brown , 77, of Middleboro, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 13, after a short illness.

Vincent was the loving son of the late John and Genevieve (Smudin) Brown and grew up in Brockton. Vincent graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1957 and was drafted by the US Army in 1959, serving in Panama. Vincent married Karen Murphy Brown of Middleboro on July 31, 1976 and the two would raise their son Vincent in Middleboro.

Vincent was a skilled millwright for Local 1121 and worked in Boston most of his career. He was a lifelong golf enthusiast, always enjoyed fishing and shell fishing, and was the proud grill master at many cookouts and family gatherings. Vincent was a longtime friend of Bill W. and when he wasn’t going out to dinner or cooking he was reading his newspapers.

Loving father of Vincent P. Brown and Kelly of Carver, proud “Grampy” of Noelle and Nicholas, and loving brother of John P. Brown of PA and Jeane Y. Lincoln of Bridgewater. Also survived by his nieces Angela Lincoln and Gina Lincoln both of Bridgewater , and many other dear friends.

Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Mon. Sept. 18 at 8:00am and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the Our Lady of the Lake, 580 Monponsett St, Halifax at 9:00am and burial will be held privately. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Sept. 17th from 2-6pm and in lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.

Vincent recently said, “ Farewell to all of my friends, especially at the EB in Kingston,  I had a good run for 42 years”.
