Walfrid Gustaf Lundborg, Jr.

FALMOUTH—Walfrid Gustaf Lundborg, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2106 at the Falmouth Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Walfrid was born in Hartford, CT an only and privileged son of well-known Hartford Attorney, Walfrid Gustaf Lundborg Sr. and his wife, Helen Lawler Lundborg. He attended Philips Academy Andover, Trinity College and attained his MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. During the early stages of Walfrid’s career, he worked as a financial analyst on Wall Street where he learned about running his own business. From this experience, he owned and operated a very successful Water Heating Leasing business.

In the latter part of his life, Walfrid yearned for much simpler things. He spent many years living and working on Martha’s Vineyard. When he relocated to Falmouth, he worked in the photo department at Walmart for over a decade and was greeted with the name “Mr. Walmart.”

He was an incessant and voracious reader; and loved blueberry pie with chocolate ice cream. The beauty of this wonderful man is that he never forgot a name and was loved by absolutely everyone.

Walfrid is survived by his loving children, Vanessa Lundborg and Walfrid Gustaf Lundborg, III.

Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with Walfrid’s family on Saturday, December 31st at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, from 11 AM until Noon, when at that time a Memorial Service will commence.
