William E. “Bill” Fisher, Jr.

William E. Fisher, known to friends as “Bill,” passed away on July 6, 2018, at the age of 77, peacefully, during a family reunion.

A native of Pittsburgh, Bill attended West View High School and spent most of his career in information technology at Laborers Combined Funds. Bill was an outdoor enthusiast, a master woodworker, a multiple trophy-winning marksman, a serious ham radio enthusiast, and one of the early, self-taught computer scientists that paved the way for NASA missions and such industries as HBO.  He was still an active member of the Pittsburgh Tutonia Club and the Pittsburgh Computer Club. He loved sharing his knowledge and passions with others and stayed active doing so.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irene, as well as his children and grandchildren, Will, Nancy (Audrey), Kathy (Eleanor and Edmund), Michael (Haden and Wyatt).

The family has no plans for a memorial service at this time.
