William Karas

William “Bill” Karas, 80, of Bridgewater died peacefully at home after a brief illness on October 6, 2019.  Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years Karleen Karas; his brothers, Ed, Robert, John and his sister, Margie Totti.  Bill was born, raised and attended school in Canton, MA.  

Upon finishing high school Bill was drafted by the then Boston Braves baseball team and spent time at their farm team in Paducah, KY.  Bill also was an avid golfer, turned professional for a short time, worked at Polaroid, then for Easton Public Schools as a custodian for twenty years, retiring in 2007.  

A part time job at South Easton Motors, mornings at the White Rose in Easton and golf filled his retiring years. Bill with his wife, Karleen, was a long-term member at Easton Country Club in Easton MA.  

All are invited to the Prophett Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Sunday, October 13th for visiting hours from 1:00PM-3:00PM.  Interment will be private.
