Winslow (Wink) Dutra, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brockton, MA, the son of the late Helen (Wilson) Dutra Nelson, and Alton C. Dutra, Sr.
Wink leaves his beloved wife, Barbara (Mucci) of Bourne, MA; his son Daniel Dutra of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his daughter, Jennifer Dutra and daughter-in-law Cheryl Dumont of Westport, MA; two grandchildren, Sebastian and Valentina Dutra of Weston, FL; and his sister, Janice (Dutra) Phillips Clark, of Brockton, MA. He is the brother of the late Alton C. Dutra, Jr.
Wink graduated from Avon High School and attended Dean Junior College in Franklin, MA before starting his longtime career with Polaroid Corporation.
He spent much of his leisure time playing, watching, and reading about golf. His advice was to never give up and he never did. He was determined to grow the best tomatoes, and found the way to do it each season, despite having limited space. His sense of humor was only surpassed by the sound of his laughter. He was a gentle man, a kind man, a generous man.
Wink served in the U. S. Army and was a true patriot. It was fitting that he would pass on Flag Day, the symbol of our country that he honored and respected.
